CHIN 2121L - Intermediate Chinese Lab II
Intermediate Chinese Lab utilizes an on-line course management system to deliver materials that students use to practice the communicative skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students are expected to complete assignments that involve watching short video clips, listening to recorded passages, describing pictures, practicing vocabulary recall and recording spoken materials. Activities vary from week to week. Reference materials and course curriculum are available and can be accessed both in the lab and remotely via the school network. The lab sessions are designed to enhance and provide practice on an individual basis with the materials that are covered during the classroom sessions. CHIN 2121 helps establish a foundation for paragraph-length communication using the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students are expected to practice comprehension and production of the basic vocabulary and structures introduced in class. Additionally, students will gain an appreciation for the role that technology can play in gaining linguistic competence in a foreign language.
